Need to seek solutions instead of promises?: 5 examples

They say, history repeats itself, and, especially, when it involves the voting habits, and therefore the degree of attention, most pay to elections and candidates, this statement, certainly appears true! Time after time, candidates making populist, empty promises, and / or, using rhetoric, which, either inspires or motivates (whether during a positive or negative way), often elected to office. Therefore, it should surprise nobody, our public officials, often, seem, to realize little, to zilch, of consequence, and, why, there seems to be little relevant leadership, and, even less sustainable direction! thereupon in mind, this text will plan to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, why we actually could use some leaders, who offer well - considered, viable solutions, rather than playing politics, with peoples lives, and offering empty promises, and, irresponsible rhetoric. We'll use 5 examples, to show, why it matters.

1. Infrastructure: In many of America's cities, especially older ones, there are numerous weaknesses within the infrastructure! we've gone far too long, addressing these challenges, especially, as they relate to our bridges, tunnels, roads, water supplies, etc. In 2016, Donald Trump, promised he would address these ("like nobody else can"), yet, when the leaders of the minority party, within the House and Senate, thought that they had an agreement, the President walked away, and, we are now 3 years, further down the road, and closer to the inevitable catastrophe!

2. Environment; Climate: Despite this occupant of the White House's denial, global climate change is taken into account a significant reality by the overwhelming majority of the scientific experts on the subject! rather than occupation the required direction, he removed us from the Paris Accords, making the us, the sole nation, within the world, to try to to so! for several years, our governmental leaders prioritized paying more attention to the environment, especially, when it came to making sure clean air and water, yet, we still witness, this administration, attempting to reverse these measures!

3. Healthcare: Should quality healthcare, be, a right, or merely, a privilege? Should it's available, or also, affordable? With numerous running for the Democratic nomination, for President, we are witnessing, several ideas, including what's mentioned, as, Medicare For All. However, the various challenges, including, ever getting the legislation enacted, the important costs, limitations, delivery challenges, ramifications, etc, are often, avoided, by proponents, who, prefer the populist approach! Wouldn't improving, but building on the building - blocks, of the Affordable Care, tweaking it, and, including a public option, be a cheaper, viable, workable, solution, with far fewer unknowns, and potential ramifications?

4. Rights: What does America represent, if we abandon, our principles, Constitutional guarantees, freedoms, liberties, and rights, for all, which distinguish us? Unfortunately, within the past 3 years, we've witnessed a preference for selective adherence to those, based more on politics, personal / political agenda, and / or, self - interest, than on, what it should mean, to be, this great nation!

5. Integrity: Shouldn't our citizens be entitled, to being represented, and served by individuals, sympathetically, and genuine, absolute integrity?

Wake up, America, because, we've entered a period, when either citizens demand more, and better, or, are going to be the enablers of lesser results! Are you ready, willing, and ready to be, a skilled citizen?
